Can pregnant women eat food with raw egg?

Looking for honey butter recipe's... and people are telling me to put in egg whites. Is that bad? How soon would egg white go bad in honey butter? Can pregnant women eat food with raw egg?
well i would not! just to be safe! Can pregnant women eat food with raw egg?
Its not about them going bad. Even fresh raw eggs can have bacteria in them that can make your baby very sick and. Its the bacteria in raw eggs that makes them bad to eat during pregnancy.

Why not try this simple honey butter recipe (with no raw eggs)

Ingredients:

3/4 C butter at room temp

1/4 C honey

1. In a small bowl mix together butter and honey until smooth.

2. Store covered in the refrigerator.
It isn't a matter of them spoiling. Raw eggs or any foods that contain raw eggs should be avoided because of the potential exposure to salmonella. All eggs or any recipe including eggs should be fully cooked before eaten, especially while pregnant. This includes raw cake batter, cookie dough, egg nog..etc. If the recipe you are using calls for raw eggs, use Egg Beaters instead or another pasteurized egg alternative.

For the answers saying Egg whites can not have salmonella..

What Part Of The Egg Carries Bacteria?

Researchers say that, if present, the salmonella is "usually" in the yolk or "yellow." However, they can't rule out the bacteria being in egg whites. So everyone is advised against eating raw or undercooked egg yolks and whites or products containing raw or undercooked eggs.

If you are worried about it, skip the homemade honey butter and buy some at the store. Even if they use raw eggs, they are probably pasteurized (and will say so if that is the case). But I have to be honest, even though my husband can't stand it when I do this, and even though I know it's not recommended, I still eat raw cookie dough, brownie batter, cake mix, etc., even when I'm pregnant. I have never, pregnant or otherwise, gotten sick from eating these things.
you CAN, but they recommend you don't. it's like running the risk of eating fish because of mercury.

here's a honey butter recipe without egg whites though -

1 cup honey

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1tsp cinnamon (optional)

They advise you not to eat raw egg when your pregnant because of the salmonella virus, which can harm or kill the baby.

It's best to just leave any food like that until after you give birth because you don't really want to risk your baby do you?
they discourage it because of salmonella poisoning. its ultimately upto you. i have kept it safe and not had anything with raw egg. is it a necessity for the recipe? or could you leave it out?
I would not eat any raw eggs while pregnant. I know when I was PG my doctor told me to even avoid cesar dressing because it has raw egg yolk in it and your run the risk of salmonella. Its better to be safe that sorry.
Don't ever use raw egg in pregnancy, however you can buy dried egg white which is safe to eat, use that instead of the white from fresh eggs.

Hope that helps x
Raw eggs, no.

You can eat eggs though. Just make sure they are properly cooked.

You should avoid most home-made things with egg. It is a little risky.
If it were me, I'd rather be safe than sorry and skip the raw eggs altogether.
Raw eggs are not a good thing for pregnant women because pf the chance of getting a food born illness!
You should not consume raw eggs while pregnant.
Egg whites are the healthy part of the egg, the yolk is what they say you shouldn't eat because it's the part that they say is bad/unhealthy for you.
Egg Whites are only protein, there is not risk of salmonella with only whites. The yolk is what has everything else.
If you eat it fresh it's ok (be sure to wash the egg first) but that's just my opinion.
