The main core idea behind the raw food regimens for pets is that the raw food is what they would have eaten in the wild.
Why then, do all of the recipes call for added nutrients like Taurine, Psyllum and Vitamin B?
If they are supposed to get all their nutrients from the wild and you are giving them raw food that is organic, is there really a need for these supplements?

It depends - feeding a raw diet on the "whole prey model" should not require any supplements. For example, if you buy a whole rabbit, skin it, and toss it to your cats for supper, no additional nutrients will be required. Likewise, if you take the whole rabbit and put it through a meat grinder, the same applies. On the other hand, if you simply buy raw meat, then you have to be concerned about the nutrients that are not present - because muscle meat does not have the same nutrition as organ meats, and different are rich in different nutrients as well. And there is the fact that the calcium in the bones balances out the phosphorus in the muscles. Here is a site that might give you more specific examples of this: http://www.catfoodguide.com/recipes/ I'm a big fan of that site, as it has tons of useful information for not only raw food but also of canned and dry brands.Raw Cat Food needs supplements?
If your worried about not having a balanced diet then DONT feed a raw diet.
Purina, Hill's, Iams, Eukaneuba, all spend a lot of time and money and making balanced and safe diets where you don't have to worry about those supplements (or any of the other issues of a raw diet)

Raw Cat Food needs supplements? These cats are no longer wild animals though.
They still need a balanced diet.
Raw diets are not good for house pets. They can still get things like e. coli, salmonella, pancreatitis, etc. They can even excrete more e. coli in their stool making it more dangerous for you to be around them (cat goes in the little box digs around then jumps on kitchen counter/tables etc)
Wild cats are able to listen to their bodies and fulfill their needs by eating what they need to maintain a balanced diet, house cats are not able to do this and will only be able to eat what you offer.Raw Cat Food needs supplements?
Because a cat's diet consists of the whole carcass is why they need the supplements. They would eat the bones the heart the liver ect
