Hi, I love my dog more than anything, and I want to him to live a long, happy, healthy life.
Of course, one of the most important things when it comes to health is an adequate, well-balanced diet.
So... I am thinking about alternating my pit bulls' kibble diet with raw meat and vegetables, so I am doing research on the matter.
I was wondering how many (if any) of you feed your APBTs raw food diets and what your thoughts on the matter are.
Advice, tips, suggestions, links, recipes, preparation steps, and any other information you are willing to provide would be greatly obliged.
Thanks for your time.Raw food diet for APBTs?
A proper RAW diet is meat, meaty bones and organs - not just meat and no need for vegetables.
The general guide is to feed between 2 and 3% of the dogs adult weight per day and aim to feed about 1/2-2/3 meat and the rest a combination of meaty bones and organs.Raw food diet for APBTs?
I don't have much time, this will be short...
Pick one diet or the other. Kibble or Raw. Switching back and forth can possibly lead to problems.
No veggies. Dogs are carnivores, NOT omnivores.
No cooking. All raw.
Prey Model Raw Diet = 80-90% meat and bones, 10-20% organs.
Here is a website I started when I first started feeding raw. It has some great links as well
