I've been reading about, and have become interested in eating more fruits/veggies/raw foods ... I'd like to get my hubby onto more organic and healthy foods too.
One of our favorite things to do, is go out to dinner... We love love food, so I'm making him (and myself) detox, and teach ourselves better eating habits while we're still young (24%26amp;25)
He isn't too happy with the idea of eating fruits and veggies, cutting down his salt and meat... He says "salads aren't filling" ... what are some yummy healthy FILLING foods that guys actually enjoy?
Nothing too weird or expensive.. i don't have a lot of shopping options in my area...Raw food recipes?
I blend green smoothies here is one of my regulars
1 avocado
1 lemon (no peel)
1 packet stevia
1 handful of sprouts
1 Cucumber
1/4 cup coconut milk
blend the whole thing then add shredded coconut over the top I love it! (got it from the movie Crazy Sexy Cancer)
My man likes it because he gets all his veggies in one shot and he doesn't have to go over the top the rest of the dayRaw food recipes?
If you want my advise DON'T BUY VEGETARIAN FOODS AT RESTAURANTS.they aren't really sanitary in keeping there oils in one place, meaning(they fry chicken in the same pan,and then fry french fries in the same oil.)so don't trust anyone but yourself when it comes to vegetarianism.influencing others to become vegetarian can be very hard.I recommend buying tofu, and simply season it like if it were meat. As far as raw food recipes be creative after all creativity is the key to vegetarianism.
Veggie Pizza is good.
Just cook the pizza crust according to the directions. Top with cream cheese. Then top with any veg of your choice like tomatoes, green onion, peppers, broccoli, mushrooms etc. etc. Then refrigerate for at least an hour to let it get nice and cold and serve.Raw food recipes?

I also have a picky "vegetable" eating husband. Below are some winners:
1. garlic bread add pesto, fresh tomatoes/basil and mozzarella cheese. toast in the oven until the cheese melt.
2.Spaghetti with soy meatballs in garlic Mariana sauce, fresh mushrooms, onions, broccoli and green/yellow/ orange peppers topped with Romano cheese. { you will be able to hide so many vegetables in this one and he would not even know the goodness he is eating} Also, great for children (you could also puree the vegetables too)
3. Pasta salad {heavier and filling for your guy}
your favorite pasta, tomato, olives, pesto, Parmesan cheese, cucumbers, extra virgin olive oil, Italian dressing and fresh basil and oregano.
mix all together and walla! add some fresh corn on the Cobb.
4. Fajitas/Tacos
grill pineapples, corn and peppers.
add salsa, rice, guacamole, cheese of your choice and your vegetables into your soft tortilla or crunchy taco. Oh, do not forget to squeeze some lime juice over or a hot sauce.
yummy and all very findable and affordable.
enjoy!
Well I see that no one has actually provided you with RAW FOOD ideas, so hopefully I can help.
First of all, if you aren't yet fully raw, but want to just move in that direction, here are some recipes to try. They are mostly raw, but have one or two ingredients that aren't fully raw but are still healthy:

Try the spring rolls!
For fully raw recipes, try a gazpacho soup:

and for dessert, try these walnut and carob cookies:

Basically, anything with avocados, coconuts and nuts will be the most filling and calorie-dense foods.
Another tip - going from eating an unhealthy and meat-based diet to raw right away can be a bit difficult. Try maybe going vegetarian and then vegan first, eating mostly whole and unprocessed foods and you might find it a bit easier to start eating more raw foods.
