What does "Stoned" mean in refrence to food in the UK?

I am looking at some raw food recipes from the UK,and it mentions the term stoned.What does it mean?What does "Stoned" mean in refrence to food in the UK?
If you are looking at a recipie with cherries or dates for example, it means that the stones are to be removed.

Thats what we say when we remove the stones? What do you say?What does "Stoned" mean in refrence to food in the UK?
I believe the term stoned means that the food has had its pits removed.What does "Stoned" mean in refrence to food in the UK?
It means that the pips, seeds or stones have been taken out: stoned raisins, stoned prunes, stoned cherries, stoned plums, stoned olives etc etc.
