I think your dog needs to eventually learn to eat dog food, maybe you should just make his/her dog food more appealing, by adding something in it or something. My dog doesnt eat that much but we'll put peas in his dog food so he'll eat it because he likes them and since they're so small he has to eat the dog food to get to the peas.Home cooked dog food?
If you really want to cook for your dog, I would suggest cooking rice, some chicken, some hamburger, and throw in some minced cold cuts - sodium free and serve it 2 cups at a time. But your dog may learn to eat dog food if you just mix some gravy with it.

it costs a lot more then most foods but its worth the money for a beautiful coat and healthy imune system.you can find reviews of dog food at:

This is what i feed my dogs.
I cook a mix of 60% mince, 20% brown rice, 20% frozen veggies, and cook it up with some beef stock.
I then give them a cup of good quality dry food, for all the nutrients and the crunch for their teeth, and half of the home made mixture. I also open an omega 3 capsule or sardines for their coat and bone joints, and 2 tablespoons of yoghurt for their digestive system.
I have allways fed this, my dogs love it, its not expensive, and they are in great condition. you can freeze it in portions, and defrost daily.
Its also good if your dogs trying to lose weight, as you just increase the amount of veggies.
I also change it sometimes, with chicken mince instead for variety, and give 2 bones a week, and chicken necks. I explained this diet to the vet, and he said it was very healthy.
I hope this helps!
