I'm on a raw food diet and a ton of recipes call for corn thats been husked straight from the cob. Yeah so I am not so good in the kitchen so would it be a major failing if I just used canned corn? What is the nutritional difference between canned and fresh corn? What is the difference between canned corn and corn from the cob?
The process of canning partially cooks whatever is in the can - so you are defeating the whole purpose of a raw food diet by eating canned food.
As far as I can tell, from a quick review at calorieking.com, the only difference between raw and canned corn, nutritionally, is a higher sodim load in the canned stuff, which could be corrected for by buying only a salt-free brand. (I've never understood the point of a "raw diet" anyway.)
You might be better off with frozen corn, which is often flash-frozen as soon as it's picked, and won't suffer from the partial cooking associated with the canning process. What is the difference between canned corn and corn from the cob?
canned corn is in a can...What is the difference between canned corn and corn from the cob?
umm corn on the cob is on a cob and corn in a can is in a can....What is the difference between canned corn and corn from the cob?
...corn from the cob is...um.
...from the cob?
canned corn can sometimes be not nearly as fresh and corn from the cob. i would REALLY recommend that you buy corn from the cob and not in a can. it also tastes heaps better.
p.s wen u have sorn whether it be on the cob or cut off, mix or spread butter over it and then sprinkle a bit of herbal salt over it. it is delicous!!!
but be sure to use herbal salt and not regular or table salt. it doesnt taste nearly as good and one day when i tried it i nearly puked!! lolz
hope this helps!!! xoxox
