I found a raw dog food recipe that seems way out of hand. It's-
Ground meat without bone
Ground meat with bone
Goat's milk
Raw meaty bones
Muscle meat
Organ meat
Multivitamin
Omega-3 oil
And all of this seems way too much.
I was planning on feeding my dog either chicken, lamb, and turkey, rotating each day, not pork cuz it's way too hard to handle raw. OR leftover meats from a butcher. I was also going to get ground bones, vegetables like carrots and broccoli, and put some pasta and an egg, with shells, in it. Is this balanced enough? It looks like it is for me.
Any suggestions?? ThankssBalanced raw dog food recipe?
Pasta and vegetables are completely unnecessary and inappropriate in a raw diet. Organ meats (liver, kidney, green tripe, etc) are very much necessary to add in proper amounts, fish oil would be highly beneficial, and some raw meaty bones offered regularly are a good idea for dental health reasons, particularly as it appears you intend to feed ground product rather than an on-the-bone prey model diet.
You need to do plenty more research before feeding your dog a raw diet. It's more difficult to balance than you might think.

Combine the following:
1 cup hot water (I like to use hot broth)
1 envelope dry milk
2 tsp. bouillon
Add the following to the bouillon mixture:
3/4 cup oil
2 eggs
2 tbsp. brown sugar
5 cups whole wheat flour
Stir to form a very stiff dough. Roll out and cut into shapes. Cover a cookie sheet with foil and place cookies on it. Bake at 300 掳 F for 40 minutes, turning cookies over after 20 minutes.
Enjoy!
Note: People often ask, "How long do these cookies keep?" Quite honestly, we don't know the answer 鈥?they never last that long. They should keep for a reasonable amount of time, especially if you keep them in the fridge.
