What ingredients do you use in your homemade dog food? Please tell exact amount and ingredient because I would like to compare your recipe to mine. Do use raw meat or cooked meat? How much does this usually cost you? Is it expensive or cheap?

Hi, I have several different recipes that I use. Just to be clear if I use any type of ground meat I always cook it just because of the level of bacteria that can be mixed into ground meat. If it's chunks of meat or a steak I'm cutting up I just lightly sear it on the outside to kill any bacteria on the outside of the meat. Here are two of my recipes all of which I go from "Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats" .
Quick Canine Oats and Eggs
-1 cup raw rolled oats (or 2 cups cooked)
- 3 eggs
-1 teaspoon bone meal or 600-700 mg calcium
-sprinkle "healthy powder" recipe below

Second recipe (book says and I have either served raw or baked like a meatloaf)
- 1/4 pound fairly lean beef heart
- 6 slices whole wheat bread crumbled, (about 3 cups) be sure no partially hydrogenated oilsor corn syrup
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup corn or other vegetables
- 1 tablespoon healthy powder
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1and 1/2 teaspoon bone meal or 1000 mg calcium
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt or dash of iodized salt
- 1 small clove of garlic minced

Healthy Powder:
- 2 cups nutritional yeast
- 1 cup lecithin granules
- 1/4 cup kelp powder
- 1/4 cup bone meal or 9,000 mg calcium
- 1,000 mg of vitamin c ground up

The homemade food above costs about the same as premium dog food. the Honest Kitchen food below is more expensive due to convenience.

You need to do your own research %26amp; reading and not rely on JUST "recipes" without more understanding of the whole point for feeding/choosing raw or BARF diets. BTW, 95% of dogs who have a protein allergy CAN eat the protein fine, if it is raw, vs cooked. Cooking chemically changes meat %26amp; greatly reduces the nutritional content.What ingredients do you use in your homemade dog food?
I give raw bone, organ and muscle it costs about $2 a day. Twice a week I add raw oatmeal, carrot and brown rice ( 1 cup mixed together ) adding another $1.50What ingredients do you use in your homemade dog food?
