so i have made the transition from feeding my 1 year old boxer dog commercial dog food to raw home prepared food, he eats 2 meals a day and each meal has about about 1 1/2 cups of cooked white rice, 1 raw chicken breast, 1/4 a cup of mashed peas, and 1/4 a cup of mashed green beans, with one spoonful of home made yogurt for calcium, i am wondering if this is a balanced meal, and if anyone could suggest any other veggies i can substitute in like carrots, spinach etc. instead of peas and green beans for more of a variety because i have already given him carrots and spinach before, he also gets to chew on marrow and knuckle bones to keep his teeth cleanTips for a good RAW dog food recipe?
Ditch the rice.
He wouldn't need the yogurt if you were feeding him bone in meats. He's going to need far more than just chicken
Far from balanced. If you are insistent in feeding veggies look up BARF sites.

Or you can look into prey model/franken prey as My Dogs mentioned which is 80% meat 10% bones 10% organs half of which is liver. Tons of sites out there here are some of my bookmarked ones

No, this isn't very balanced. Feeding the veggies and rice you are filling your dog up with the things you're trying to avoid by switching from commercial dog food!
A good raw diet consists of approximately 80% raw muscle meat, 10% raw organs (kidney, liver) and 10% raw bones. This is ALL the dog needs. Feed different meat sources, like chicken, lamb, beef, duck, venison, pork, ect.

Your dog is a carnivore. He does not need anything but raw meat with bones and organs. NOTHING else. No rice, no veggies, no yogurt. Join the Yahoo groups "raw feeding" and "raw chat". The basics are: 80% meat, 10% bone, 10% organ (5% liver, 5% other). It's VERY easy, and costs about the same as most so-called "premium" kibble.Tips for a good RAW dog food recipe?
here is an excellent site for preparing a raw diet
with a raw diet there are raw bones so you do not have to add calcium
