I found a raw dog food recipe that seems way out of hand. It's-
Ground meat without bone
Ground meat with bone
Goat's milk
Raw meaty bones
Muscle meat
Organ meat
Multivitamin
Omega-3 oil
And all of this seems way too much.
I was planning on feeding my dog either chicken, lamb, and turkey, rotating each day, not pork cuz it's way too hard to handle raw. OR leftover meats from a butcher. I was also going to get ground bones, vegetables like carrots and broccoli, and put some pasta and an egg, with shells, in it. Is this balanced enough? It looks like it is for me. Any suggestions?? It doesn't sound 'way too much', remember it's based on proportions. The dog needs trace elements and vitamins and minerals--goat milk adds some of those but not all. I'd expect to see more than the multivitamin and the omega in there, it's still missing things. Is this a commercially prepared diet? Google them online to see what else their site says.
There are raw feeder dog owner lists on YahooGroups, why not go over there and ask?Raw dog food recipe that's balanced?
Feeding raw is a science and not something that you can just guess at and toss some raw food in your dogs dish and call it balanced.

80% meat, 10% bone, 5% liver, 5% other organ meat (heart for the purpose of diet is meat not an organ) Rotating protein source is good, no need to do it daily but if you want to that is fine. No need for a supplements, no need for vegetables or pasta, limit raw eggs they can cause problems given in to large a quantity, no need to grind the bones feed whole edible bones it is better for the teeth and exercise for the jaws.
